The Kirman Design Service
The service that we offer includes Initial Consultation, Discussion of Brief, Site Survey and Site Analysis, Concepts, Final Plan/Planting Plan, Garden build, Project Monitoring, Post garden construction online services, Maintenance, Annual visits as well as Soil Analysis, Planting Service, Specimen Planting and Border Design.
Gardens worked on vary dramatically in size from back to back spaces with a budget of just a few thousand to several acres with tens of thousands of pounds budget. All the owners however have a common desire to create an interesting and positive space to enjoy and live in.
If there is something else you may need in the way of advice or practical skill which is not listed below, please feel free to give us a call. We are friendly, approachable, and are good problem solvers no matter how strange your ideas and thoughts may seem to you! At the initial consultation, the garden will be viewed and the needs and ideas of the clients will be discussed. The design process will be explained including development stages and payment etc. An estimate of costs should be possible at this time. An initial consultation fee is chargeable at this point which will be refunded on completion of the work.
Discussion of Brief
A client brief is created from the initial consultation for discussion with the client and any necessary changes will be made at this point.
Site Survey and Site Analysis
A detailed site survey including boundaries and measurement of levels will be undertaken listing all problem areas as well as features to keep. Soil analysis will be carried out and photographs taken.
Concepts Concept ideas and plans are created from the site survey, analysis, design brief and discussions with client.
Final Plan/Planting Plan Final plans are delivered to client. Build arrangements to be discussed. If at this point the client wishes to appoint their own contractor, construction drawings can be supplied. Help can be given with regards to the tendering process to ensure that quotes are like with like enabling accurate comparisons to be made

Garden built by specialist quality contractors to specification of the designer.
Additional services offered
Project Monitoring Takes the time and stress out of the construction process for the client. Important to ensure that the garden is built according to the original specifications and concepts.
Post garden construction online service This service allows clients to log into their space on the web site and access their garden plans, photography, of the garden before, during and after as well as a yearly maintenance plan with detailed information about each plant included in the garden design giving height, spread, watering etc.
Regular garden maintenance
Day to day maintenance of the garden including pruning, mowing and power-wash hard landscaping areas.
Annual visit
To advise clients as to longer term plans as the garden matures over the years.
Soil Analysis
Professional analytical reports can be created from garden soil samples which includes pH, nutrient analysis of potassium, magnesium and phosphorus and physical analysis of organic matter, sand, course silt, fine silt, clay and textural analysis.
Border Design
If you just require a particular border in your garden designing, we can provide suggested planting schemes or a full border design service.
Planting Service
Once you have your border designed, or if you know what you want already but don't know how to go about planting it out, Kirman Design offer a full planting service from hanging baskets to full design schemes.
Specimen Planting
